Workshops
Beginner-friendly, hands-on workshops in CAD and 3D printing, electronics and soldering, Arduino and microcontrollers, coding, and prototyping. Members, staff, and invited guests can share practical skills.
A student club at Oberlin College
An interdisciplinary club for engineering, technology, design, and robotics at Oberlin. Learn practical skills, meet students and alumni, build with others, and explore where your interests can take you.
Every major. Every experience level.

Different majors.
A shared place to learn and build.
Workshops, student and alumni talks, team projects, and a community to explore engineering with. Every major is welcome, with no experience or 3-2 participation required.
About the clubOur plans
The club supports interdisciplinary work in engineering, technology, design, robotics, and related fields. All majors are welcome. Participation in a 3-2 program is not required for membership or projects.
Beginner-friendly, hands-on workshops in CAD and 3D printing, electronics and soldering, Arduino and microcontrollers, coding, and prototyping. Members, staff, and invited guests can share practical skills.
We will invite current 3-2 students at their engineering school and alumni to discuss choosing a school and major, applying, the transition, coursework, and careers. Talks are open to everyone.
We plan to work with Career Exploration and Development (CED) to connect students with companies on longer projects shaped by student interests. Teams would tackle real problems, develop designs, and present work they can discuss in applications, internships, and interviews.
Semester-long team projects will let members build together, try different roles, learn from one another, and share their work at showcases.
Socials, study sessions, and informal build nights will help engineering-minded students from every major find friends, study partners, and mentors.
We will connect interested students with academic and career resources, mentors, and official advising for engineering and 3-2 pathways. Participation in a 3-2 program is not required for membership or projects.

A bench-top imaging station that counts bacterial and yeast colonies in seconds and logs results by voice, with all lab data kept on the device. Built on its own Arduino VENTUNO Q. No experience needed to join.

Build and integrate an existing multi-material unit using hardware already available in the lab. Print required components, assemble the mechanism, install/configure firmware, integrate it with a printer, calibrate filament handling, and produce successful multi-material prints.

A self-managing hydroponic rack that watches every plant with a camera and keeps water, nutrients and light in range automatically. Built on its own Arduino VENTUNO Q. No experience needed to join.

Build and test a system that converts PET bottles into usable 3D-printer filament. Print and assemble the required components, connect electronics, test different bottle preparation and processing methods, and develop a repeatable production workflow.
Fall events are being planned. Dates and locations will be posted when confirmed.
Work on projects with other members.
Practice electronics, fabrication, and software.
Talk about engineering study and careers.
No engineering experience required. You do not need to be in the 3-2 program.
